what should come first in a water line schematic diagram?

If I am going to store water from a deep well into and elevated water tank or cistern what should come after the deep well in a schematic diagram? like deep well(water source)-->gate valve--->water tank....

1. on the schematic, probably the pump if the pump is located in the well if the pump is not submerged in the well, then there will probably be a valve for isolation prior to the pump
2. OK Deep Well (Water Source) ---> Check Valve (If pump is above ground) --->Ball Valve ---> Pump (If above ground) --->Hose Bibb (Could help in priming or other ways) --->Ball Valve --->Water Tank I hope that this helps
