When I turn on this TV I hear only a pitched kind of sound. A few tips in the right direction should help.

- If it's a set with a picture tube you should not attempt to repair it. There are very high voltages around a picture tube that can injure or even kill you. If it's an LCD set you should get a tech manual for it a follow the directions for trouble shooting. If it's a plasma TV it has some dangerous parts to it as well so don't mess with those ether. When all is said and done the cost of repair will probably be more that the cost of replacement by the time you have all the right equipment to fix it. Unless you plan to go into TV repair fixing one set will be cost prohibitive. So take it to a pro or chuck it and get a new one.
- I was repairing an RCA TV this afternoon that had a similar problem. You need to measure the resistance across any two pins after removing the horizontal transistor. Check that the values are minimum 200 ohms
