How best to sell a 'huge' TV that needs repair and is only 3 years old!?

A family member has a huge TV (Samsung 62 in.) with stand that cost $3000! It recently lost it's picture and the TV repair person said it would cost $700 plus service call to repair. These are young folks with no way of paying that much. Any suggestions as to how best to sell it for at least enough to get another TV? thanks

  2. Girl: Sorry, but it doesn't make any difference what this TV cost over 3 years ago - technology has changed too much in 3 yrs. If you are looking at $700+ in repairs and a service call, your TV set is worth exactly $0.00. Sorry, but it's true. I hope you can get someone to haul it away for no charge. I guess you could advertise it for $100 in a free ad newspaper and hope a sucker came along, but my conscience wouldn't let me do it.
  3. It's obviously not cost effective to repair it since it's worth nothing. Give it away and save your money to get something current.
