Does anyone know where I could find free TV service manuals? My TV just has a horizontal line across the midle of it and I want to find a manual of some kind to help fix it,It is a NetTV Multi-Media monitor.Its worth about $1600.00 so im not to eager to trash it besides that I use it for my computer monitor and my TV so I would be screwed.I just need any kind of TV service manual just so I can identify parts because the internet helps but it always says the name of the part and I dont know what they are talking about,for example (the yolk) It said to clean the terminals on the yolk,I dont know what a yolk is.It would be nice to have some kind of picture with names pointing to parts or something.Im trying to find out where the vertical projector is located ,I have no clue.A manual for any TV would be nice it would at least be somekind of reference to my TV. Help with making a convergence grid overlay/find service manual for rear projection tv? The tv i have is a hitachi 43' rear projection tv model 43uwx10b, which i got from a friend who gave up on fixing it. He replaced the two convergence ic's and for some reason did a memory reset... Normally the green is always good and you can line up your blue and red off of that, but after the reset the green became off also. I can move all the colors good but i have nothing to line the grid up with. I am not sure what they are called, I think maybe convergence grid overlays, basically plexiglass with a grid drawn on used to line up your colors on. i would like to know how one of thes convergence grid overlays could be made. i don't know how to find how big the rectangles are, or if they are even rectangles! Are all convergence grids in squares, or are they just rectangles? Also I think a service manual would help, but after much searching i have only found a link to a site that is no longer in service.... If anyone knows where to get this that'd be great :) --- not sure if this helps the grid part but i did it anyway... the length is 37 and 7/16 inches, and the height of the screen is 21 inches well its pretty messed up.... heres a pic http://img109.imageshack.us/i/120909212400.jpg/ I will be glad to provide any extra info if needed! :) thanks in advance!

Need Service help with older Panasonic TV? First, Please don't say "ask your parents", I am the parent. Our primary tv is awaiting repair, we are temporarily using this Panasonic CT-27G24A manfd in 1999. Several years ago our then 13 year old locked Game Guard and said "always" and used a password that he can't remember, since then can't get channel 3 or 4. The operators manual says if this happens you have to bring it to a service person. We don't want to do that. Does anyone know what the service person would do? Where to find service manual for a Sony KDP-65XBR2? A friend needs some help on convergence. The TV is beyond changing the convergence or focus via electronic control. I have experience with Runco & NEC projectors and I fell confident that I can handle this task. It would be easier with a service manual to point out each guns components, like the focus & static rings and any details on the convergence board.

If an LCD TV switches on but there is no sound or picture, what could be the problem? An easy fix, or time to get a new TV? Is it a simple case of replacing a capacitor or something, or could it be anything? Is there anywhere I could get a service manual from, and are there any good tech forums on the 'net? I should add that I'm fairly technically adept and do in fact run an electrical repair service - it's just that TVs aren't my area. If I was told what to do I could do it. Plasma Televisions: What do you need from the cable service provider? My friend just sunk god-knows-how-much into an Hitachi plasma TV. The guy is technologically illerate and hasn't consulated his cable service provider, Charter, to ask what needs to be done in order to optimize the HD signal. Does anybody here have some experience with HD plasma TVs? I noticed there's a card-reader of sorts in the back of the TV and the manual indeed refers to it. How to clean lens of Sony 53XBR45 Projection TV? I unscrewed all the screws in the back and when I try to remove the cover there is something that is heavy. I was able to pop the top portion out of housing and the bottom is stuck. It is very to pull out. Can someone please help or provide a seervice manual for this? Samsung rear projection TV? I have the PCL5415RX/XAA tv. I turned the TV on the other day and got a red duplicate image. After much research I figure this is Probably the Convergence board. I purchased the service manual for the TV. Looking at the Service manual is a bit confusing. I'm not sure what part I need. The only thing I can find on the parts list referring to convergence is P/N - AA41-00297B. The description is PCB-AUTO CONVERGENCE. This part is only $3.00. That can't be right!!! I have a problem with the Apex 32 inch tv. The picture is too wide for the screen.? I have read the owner's manual and service manual and have checked the internet thoroughly to find an answer. My son had the same problem with his Magnavox tv. He went online and found the service code and fixed his tv. The service code for this tv is press mute on remote and either the video or menu button on the tv simultaneously. Neither or these work. I have Directv and we cannot read the left side of the guide nor can you see any scrolling on the bottom of the tv. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

I can't get the HD inputs on my big screen tv to work? I just bought a JVC model AV-56WP74 56". It has a "digital in" input which is for the HD (1080i). I've tried a few different cables, different components (cable box, dvd player), and messed with the tv's settings and it still doesn't work. I called the guy I bought it from and he said he never used that input and the manual for the tv only describes the hookup which I was doing correctly. So what am I doing wrong? If the tv needs repair what type of service is needed?

My Toshiba 65HM167 DLP tv will not power on. I get the yellow LED blinking in groups of 3.? The tv stopped working after the surge protector was switched off accidentally. 3 blinking yellows is not shown in the manual, nor does Toshiba customer service have any recommendation for. I read elsewhere to unplug it for a few hours, but I left it unplugged for 2 full days and it's still a no go. Any ideas?

How do I "finalize" a disc on my Hatachi digital movie camera.? I have followed the directions in the service manual and everything works just fine right up to the point where you are supposed to hit "finalize". "Finalize" is not an option. The only option is "Format" which of course has already been completed in order to record to the disc to begin with. I am plugged into a power source and have followed all the other directions. I can only play back my recorded material by playing it through the camera into the TV. Can't watch them on the computer at all. Help!!!!!

My TV JVC AV-29sx2ek needs a new image microprocessor? My TV JVC AV-29sx2ek needs a new image microprocessor (told by service guy). Is this an easy install i.e. just a socketed IC, or is it soldered on? A service manual would be awesome if anyone has one. Symptoms are a line that goes accross the screen and the TV automates to standby when warm (about an hour). He has also told me to replace a resistor in the -13v shelf which is no problem, I just need to know more about what this IC is and ideally where I can source one? I do have electronics experience. (I usually build valve amplifiers for guitars and have worked on a few custom chipsets for companies) I have a good stock of replacement resistors and a google search has told me the correct one is a 1w 1ohm (which I have plenty of). I think I just need the service manual so I can be sure to get hold of the correct microprocessor to replace the faulty one with. See its my parents tv and due to the distance, it would be best if I could get all the parts I need before I head down there. J

How much radiation is emitted from a 27" TV (CRT) and can this cause hair loss or cancer.? A close friend moved into a new place & when the movers delivered her 10 year old TV they had dropped it. There was a huge gaping hole in the side of the TV exposing the insides (tube, coils and wires). The TV still worked so she continued to use it over the next 4 years. During that time she had a change in hair texture, significant hair thinning & hair shedding (even baldness in a few areas). In documentation that came w/ the TV, there was a disclaimer about X ray precaution. It said "the product contains critical mechanical & electrical parts that are essential for XRAY radiation protection & product safety....WARNING: to avoid possible exposure to radiation during servicing, take protective measures described in the service manual." She thinks there may be radiation coming out of the hole in the TV that seeped in the air & may have caused or contributed to her hair loss or could cause future health problems like cancer. Know if this is possible & what she can do. TV is now gone.
