How can I repair my TV, its a RCA 32inch stero tv? It's not a flat screen or plasma or nothing just a regular 32 inch stereo, the problem is that the tv is turning off and on by itself can someone please help me I would like to order the part and install it myself.
How do you repair an RCA TV that keeps turning itself on and off? My TV is around 2 years old and was working fine one minute and then the next minute it turned itself off and then on again. It acts as if there is someone continually pushing the remote button but no one is touching it. It is a regular model TV not a flat screen, and it is very large, 32 inch screen, so taking it out to a repairman is going to be a chore. I am trying to find out if it is worth fixing. We bought the TV new for 250.00 from Walmart, and of course they no longer carry that particular type of TV in stock, I already called them about it. They told me to contact RCA and when I did that they said that because the set was over a year old, I had to go through a local repair shop and pay for it out of pocket. If there is anyone out there that knows why the set is doing this and how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to buy another TV if I can fix this one.
TV Repair question---RCA Plugs? The RCA connections (Red-White-Yellow) in front are "loose" on my TV, is there a way to tighten them up? Thanks YES, the jacks actually wiggle around
How to Repair RCA Big Screen TV Protector and Remove Screen Protector? I have a RCA big screen TV and was playing WII Sports and had on the bat extension made by DreamGear and the bat flew off of my remote and broke the TV screen protector. I also found one on Ebay, but it wasn't the same model, but a 52 inch screen. Would that one work. Someone please help!!! Also, don't ever use the DREAM GET SPORTS KIT FOR YOUR WII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
need help repairing my RCA tv? i bought an rca dlp tv, warranty ran out, etc. to make it short, RCA told me that since there is no sound or picture, and only a blinking power button and a whining and ticking noise, that I have a broken processor. is this true? ill get back to you with the exact model number, and an estimate on repair costs would be great. thanks for your time! i forgot to say that i bought a new lamp and replaced it. the new lamp is probably not the problem ha ha
What 's wrong with my 1997 rca tv? I have a 1997 rca projection tv. When I turn it on it makes a beeping sound and there is no picture. Is this something that I can fix easily or will I need a tv repair man?
How do you fix lines on a RCA tv? I have an old RCA tv, from around the 80s. the tv worked perfectly for years but All of a sudden i have these diagonal lines that popped up on the tv and the sharpness is reduced. Also most of the control knobs on the back are broken off. So can i repair this myself, should I take it to a shop, or will it be too expensive, and should i just buy a new tv?

need info on some tv repair prices so I don't get screwed!? I have an average RCA TV, not super old but not brand new either. Its getting dim and I'm afraid its about to burn out. I don't quite have the money to buy a brand new TV so I want to get this one repaired to keep it around a little longer. I would just like to know of a couple of ball park figures about how much that would be (just don't want to get screwed from a repair shop.) any help?
Need help on whether to repair the tv I have or just get a new one? I have a RCA f36650. It is only four years old. The picture has compressed at the top and there is a good 4 inch black space at the bottom of the screen. I am looking at purchasing a Toshiba 47HL167 to replace it..maybe. I am just looking into if it would be cheaper to repair the RCA or just upgrade to the Toshiba.
RCA and coax inputs on my TV are both problematic. How can I repair them? My 22" Panasonic CRT TV is giving me two separate input issues, which developed at different times. The first is with the coax input. When I connect a device via coax the picture comes through perfectly, but the sound is mostly masked by a loud buzzing sound. The level of the sound goes with the volume setting, so if I turn the volume to 0, there is no buzzing coming out, but no real sound either. Also, it seems to depend on the colours or brightness of the picture. Dark or faded colours seem to produce little to no buzz, but any sort of bright colours will cause the sound to be almost imperceptible amid the noise. The second problem is with the RCA input. My TV has 2 sets of RCA input plugs, one on the front and one on the back. The back one works perfectly, but there seems to be a loose connection with the front one. Often the signal won't get through, so I have to jiggle it a little and it will work. But then sometimes if it's bumped or even if someone walks in front of it, it will lose the connection again. Recently it has also started giving a bit of a darker picture sometimes, as if the connection is getting through but it's weak. Does anyone have any advice on how I could repair either or both of these problems? Thanks in advance!
How much will repair be on a TV? I'm looking at buying a 65" Toshiba projection TV, however, it has the rainbow effect in one corner. The owner says he has the "color guns" to repair it and I was wondering what the average cost of repair would be provided that I have the right parts. Also, I'm looking at an RCA 52" projection TV. If it breaks, what would the average cost be? A low-high price would be nice.
RCA Projection TV problem...Please HELP? Hello, We have a 2000 RCA Projection TV that has started acting up. It powers up just fine, stays on....volume is fine. The problem is with the picture. It has a concave shape and the colors all seem to separate...Like the fish eye effect. I have been reading and everything I have found seems to point to a convergence issue. Does anyone hav experience with this? It is a 46" model # P46924. We would like to try to fix this ourselves. If we mess it up will buy a new one but would like to try. Any suggestions as to where to start & possibly some online electronics live chat? We do not want to pay a repair person. Also we do not have a background in TV repair, but are both pretty mechanically inclined....any suggestions are appreciated. P.S......there is no convergence setting on the remote. Our manual says there is but if there was it is gone now.

I unplugged the set and plugged it back in then heard a series of 3 or 4 rapid clicks and the light bigins to blink again. Stupid RCA TV - I need some advise? I purchased this TV two years ago to the day. This is the second time it's been to the repair shop. The first time was when the TV was under manu warr. Now here we are without a TV again. I was VERY lucky to purchase the extended warr and since the parts to repair the TV are no longer available we are waiting to see if the extended warr company can offer us something better. We paid $1000 for the TV and the extended warr company is offering us $400 towards a new TV. This really upsets me. If there anything I can do. I have tried calling RCA and they don't seem to give a damn about this problem.
television repair? is anyone familar with RCA TV repair, or replacement parts? we have an RCA HDLP50W151 scenium and the color wheel has gone bad, we have seen that this is an issue with these TV's but cant seem to find a diagram to help us change it, its said to be fairly simple, so i thought someone could tell us how, or point us in the right direction thanks. but we didnt get an owners manual, we ordered one from rca, but they arent making the tvs anymore, im assuming because of the ongoing issues great tv, bad problems. it was a fathers day gift for hubby and it work but makes a terrible whine noise. all troubleshooting points to color wheel
RCA CTC 146 TV Power Supply Problem? I have an RCA CTC 146 TV to Repair, with a Power Supply Problem. When the Set is switched on, it will play for about 30 Seconds. Then, it switches off and on, with the Relay clicking every time. This goes on for about 20 Minutes. Then, the Set finally comes on, and works fine for several Hours, with no problem. All of the Solder Connections on the Circuit Panel appear to be intact. And, I replaced a Capacitor , [10 uf at 160 Volts], in the Power Supply Area, that appeared to be swollen. No change. And, I couldn't find a Voltage Regulator on the Board.Worst of all, I don't have a Schematic. Is there a Case History on this Chassis ?
What causes a blue halo effect on people on my RCA HD TV? the TV is 3 years old. It is a 52 inch model. This is worse on football games with the players ghosted in blue. This is not noticable on commercials. I have run the convergence and tried to adjust the contrast. I also have unplugged the TV for an hour to reset. We have Dish Network connected to the TV. For a while we had yellow in the bottom corners. This has cleared up. Can this be fixed by adjustment? If not, is it something that is reasonably repaired or is it better to buy a new TV?
What's wrong with my 1990's model RCA TV? I have had two RCA TVs that absolutely will not allow me to view all cable channels that I have. I can get lower channels to about 16, then skips up to the 20's, then back to the higher channels in the 50's. I tried using the menu to store channels, unplugged the set and let it sit about 5 hours, plugged it back in and tried it again, still nothing. I even tried running it thru the VCR and that did not work. I do have it set to cable instead of air. Also, I have a 2000 model that works fine. Can anyone in the repair field tell me why this is happening and if it can be repaired? Is the repair expensive? Intelligent answers are greatly appreciated!!
What is the part that hooks to the hv splitter on my rca tv called? Hello, I bought a rca projection tv from a lady who said she had a repair man check out the tv and he said the hv splitter was bad. She said he took it off the tv and never got around to finishing the job. I ordered a new hv splitter off ebay and then I discovered that there was another part that slid onto the hv splitter. I don't know what this part is and was trying to find out if anyone on here may know. The hv splitter has a slot and a little red and black wire by it. I guess that the repair guy just removed the splitter with this part still attached. The hv splitter has the three green one red and the black hookup and the five ground post and I know what hooks to these but on the other side of it there is a little red and black wire and a little slot for a part to slide onto it and this is what I want to know what hooks there. The model number is p52720lv and the serial number is 644690770. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! ok, I hooked the hv splitter up all but the two little wires and it still does nothing the green power light comes on and I hear a high pitched sound but no video or audio. I can look and see the little crts are glowing orange but there is no light coming from the projectors. any help would be appreciated!
How do you repair a 61 inch RCA capacitor? I googled my problem and it seems everyone else with a tv like this is doing the same thing. I try to turn it on and it flashes 3 times and doesnt come on. Try it like 10 to 15 times and it finally comes on. The answer was the capacitor. I heard this has a large electrical charge. How can this be repaired? THanks.
tv repair questions? need some help? i have a 1994 rca cabinet/floor model tv and it works really great except there is a little white line its really thin and i want to know what is wrong with it and how to fix it? thanks yeah a line like that but its just one line and itts STRAIGHT across the top
Are you a TV Repair person? My friend gave me a really nice RCA 27" flat screen TV. Sometimes when I'm watching it, it decides to make a noise. Kind of like a cross between a whistle and a hiss, with a static electricity sound. And just loud enough to be distracting. This noise is not coming out of the speakers, but rather out of the back of the cabinet (I can hear it when I put my ear by the vents) If I turn the set off for a minute, then back on, sometimes it will go away. It comes and goes.
No sound on RCA TV, ideas? We have a 52" RCA HD TV, the screen is flat but it is an older bulky TV, not the slim ones of today. It's about 7-10 yrs old. A few years ago the sound just stopped working. It works fine through the stereo surround sound system. We've tried unplugging it to reset it, and that didn't work. We've checked all the menus to make sure that the audio is turned on, it's not on mute, etc. We recently go rid of a VCR that hadn't worked in years, but it was doing something to make the sound work, with the way it was hooked up to the TV. It's hard to explain, but when the VCR was hooked up to the TV and to the stereo, everything that was plugged into the TV (X Box, DVD player, Satellite box) the sound came through the stereo just fine. We threw the VCR away and now nothing plugged into the TV has sound. We had to plug the red/white wires from the DVD and Satellite box into the back of the stereo, which thankfully has 2 inputs; and the yellow wire to the TV for video. So now we have to turn the TV and the sound on and off separately, whereas before when the TV was turned off the sound went off with it. It's a major hassle. And we can't play the X Box on that TV anymore because there is no sound. The way the cord is on the X Box makes it impossible for me to plug its red/white wires more than a few inches away from where the yellow goes. So I would like to know if anyone has any ideas as to what is wrong with this TV and if there is anything I can do to fix it short of taking it to the repair shop. Incidentally we just got it out of the shop due to the convergence going out and they charged $65 to check it out, stated they would check everything out for that fee just to make sure nothing else was wrong with it. I didn't go inside the shop with my dad when he took it and he neglected to mention the audio issue. Well obviously they lied about checking it all out, and my dad doesn't want to load it up and take it all across town again. I think they ripped us off as far as what they "fixed" for an additional $250. Seeing as how if they'd bothered to turn it on to check if it was working after fixing it they would've noticed the absence of sound in any form. I'm afraid if we took it back I could talk the man into waiving the $65 seeing as how it didn't get checked completely this last time, but that he'd charge us another $250 for a $40 part. And we'd be without our TV for another week too.
RCA TV, won't power on.? My RCA TV that we've owned for 10+ years decided that it'd no longer work a few months ago. We're not even able to power it on, at all. If we were to manually try to power it on with or without a remote, its a no-go. This is the very first time we've had problems with it. The problem is we don't know whats wrong with it. Can it be salvaged? Would we need, a new picture tube? Or what? I don't know the specs on it. My mom is afraid of getting a TV/cable tech to come out here to install one, as we don't own a truck or anything to bring it to the repair shop. She's afraid of the labor and the tube or whatever needed will cost too much. The original picture can be seen here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/Ashtray86/000_0220. Sorry, correct link: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/Ashtray86/000_0220.jpg
How do I name RCA in a small claims lawsuit? RCA claims that their authorized repair shops use only RCA parts and the best techs. So when my TV got was repaired with used parts I find I must now sue to get my money back. The owner of the shop never says he uses the best parts but RCA does.
Any RCA TV experts? Model: R56WH78? I have a RCA R56WH78 TV I got a year back that's FL231 fuse went out. I replaced that, it was a breeze! Only I didn't re-solder the flyback. So a year later it went out again. I purchased the fuse replaced it but, I am afraid something went wrong. I am not getting any picture or sound now, the power goes on but that's all that's happening. I tried to turn the volume up (Nothing displays on the screen) and I don't hear the speakers hiss when you turn it too high. There's no high pitched squeal or any other unusual noise. I checked a capacitor (cp150) it did not look like it was damaged at all..... SO Any suggestions? (I wont call a repair man, I don't have the money but I do have the time to do it myself) Thanks for the reply, I have checked that capacitor (the cp150) it does not appear swollen or anything like that..... Any other ideas?
RCA Proscan Rear projection TV won't turn on (Model #PS50670, Chassie # PTK195cl)? I have a RCA Proscan rear projection TV that just won't turn on. When I plug it in I can hear the circuits charging up, but there is no response when trying to turn it on. If I let it sit for a few weeks it will turn on and operate normally for a few weeks, provided I only use the remote control to turn it on/off. If I touch the power button on the front at all when it is working it will stop working again. It's well outside of warranty, so RCA won't help me (without charging me more than it would cost to buy a new one), but I'd like to fix it rather than replace since those things are still rather expensive. I've check the front power button and it doesn't seem to be the problem (replaced the button itself). I'm no stranger to fixing electronics, but this is the first time I've tried to repair a TV. Does anyone have any suggestions?
TV Repair-tech's & tinkerers!! I need to add an audio out from the chassis of an older stereo TV. Can u help? I could tie into the spkr wires (stereo) but that might lead to pre-amp distortion. My other options are all cryptic stuff on the chassis, such as: - Stereo L-R buffer- - Spkr Mute - Aux Audio - Stereo Out Comp - Audio Supply Lim - Linearity Coil - SIG PRDC TCHP - Stereo O/rdc - Stereo Out (with nothing to tie into) - WDBND AUD OUT - WIDEBAND - STEREO VCO The old TV (1997) is an RCA made by Thomson: Model: F25216 WT Chassis: CTC185AB It's Dad's and he's so set in his ways, he won't let us get him a new one with a place to plug his wireless headphones in. But he sits there watching it in silence cuz he couldn't hear a herd of NASCARs roar past his Lazy Boy & then off between the couch & coffee table. Oddly enough, he hears the headphones just fine. So, I'm gonna get'm in there one way or another. ...

RCA LCD TV Audio/Video Trouble? I have a 42" RCA LCD TV that is approx. 3 years old. The sound has been occasionally going out, but turning the power off then back on solved the problem. However, yesterday, the sound basically went out for good. I turn the volume up all the way, and can only hear distorted low sound. Then today, I attempted to connect my Wii to the AV1, and then AV2 connections, and was getting an unusable video signal sign for both. I connected my Wii successfully to another TV, so the Wii is not the problem. My question is, then, is my TV shot, or can it be repaired? And is it going to cost so much to repair that I should just buy a new one? Thank you for your response.
Which sdtv tv is best -- RCA 32v434t or ILO IWT3206? Hi I Have to buy a new TV soon. Can anyone help me with first-hand info on these sets from Wal-Mart? RCA 32" SDTV Model# 32v434t ( Thomson Electronics) ILO 32" SDTV Model# IWT 3206 (Funai) The RCA has a few more features and costs about $30 more, but Funai seems to have a little better repair reputation than RCA. I can't find any specific reviews of either set, only brand information in general. I am naturally a bit leery of any 32" set below $300. The 3yr extended warranty from Wal-Mart for about $30 gives a little reassurance, but I would still like to hear from a few owners. Has anyone actually bought one of these sets? Thanks Here are links to both TV's. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4872540#Warranty+Information http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4810690
Big screen tv repair. What is a fair price? I have a 52'' RCA MODEL# HD52W69D. The problem is the convergence (the red and green colors) are off a bit and now I think the fuse blew out too cause it just went black and the on button flashes trying to come on but then nothing, I called a repair place and they are coming tomorrow, I just wanted to know what is a fair price for that kind of work so I won't feel ripped off.
Why wont my big screen RCA TV turn on?? AGAIN!!!!? Ok ok well about a month ago we had the same problem with our big screen RCA TV. So we were about to get it repaired 2 weeks after it stopped working. Then i pushed the power button and it came on after I tried a million times with a remote and just doing it manually. So we figured it was done but now its doing it again with i turn it on a hear the little noise all tv's make when you first plug they in that little ding sound made by the electricity..
RCA TV 32v434 won't power on, why? I have this seven month old tv that just went off last night. At first I assumed my dog laid on the remote and hit the button, paid no attention. When I got up to turn it on today, the red led light started blinking as it always does, but lasted longer, went steady, not video audio or static from the screen. I called their customer support which was horrible, it should be called the yellow pages for authorized service centers instead of customer service. After searching and searching for information I have found out that since I bought my last RCA tv more than 10 years ago, a lot of them seem to have this same problem and RCA TV's have turned to junk. It's still in warranty for parts only now, but diagnosis is going to cost $100 plus labor for repairs. Any ideas on a DIY basis? Thanks! Finally, got the warranty to be honored. Tried unplugging it over night last night. No good. They'll have a technician come out next week. Thanks for the help!
big RCA tube tv,worth fixing it? i have a RCA 37'' tube tv like 7 years old and it was working fine and the front buttons stop responding all of the sudden, any idea what would it be? it is worth have it repair?
Sleep timer turned TV off and it never came back on? I have an RCA tv that is NO MORE than 3 years old. It looks brand new out of the box, I mean, It's been well taken car of, adult owned, nothing wrong with it, no warning.... then the other night, we turned the sleep timer on, as always... it turned itself off sometime while we were sleeping and it just doesn't come on now. When you hit the button, the blue LED flashes 5 times, as it always done, but then, after the 5th flash, when the blue LED would normally shine steady and we would hear a little pop and the TV picture would come up... now, is nothing. just 5 flashes and a black screen.... The TV repair shop wants $40 to even LOOK AT IT! Any ideas on what it could be and if we should even bother fixing it? I mean, it's a box tv so it's not like we couldn't replace it for less than $200 now... shannlen: the doesn't sound weird! It sounded weird yesterday when my mother in law said it but now that you said it too, it doesn't! lol. she said he parents got a free tv right out of the box because it wouldn't come on and they messed with the remote and got it working...
27 inch rca tv? i have a 27 inch rca tv with a very clear picture.. all of a sudden the tv picture will not come on??? i power light comes on but then goes off??? do you know possibly what can be wrong- is it expensive to have repaired??? thanks adrienne
RCA CRT TV Meltdown? The unthinkable horror just happened to me this sunny California morning, when the wife turned on the (a 2004 CRT RCA) TV, instead of the usual 'warming up sound' known to CRTs. She heard the initial click from the power turning on but then instantly a continuous clicking-whistling sound that repeats itself continuously. The only way to make it stop is to unplug the power cable. She woke me up and asked what was going on with it and I'm clueless... What seems to be problem with it? Is this repairable? Will these repairs cost us a lot?
i need help with my RCA tv? alright i have a 62 inch RCA hdtv rear projection tv. The model number is d61w20b. Ive recently started having problems with my picture. Im hoping someone can tell me how to fix it myself, because i dont really have the cash to get it repaired. if you have any other questions just let me know thanks so much in advance! ive already went in and tried to adjust all of my convergences but it doesnt really help any?
scratch inside my tv what is it thats scratched? today a tv repair guy came out to clean our rca 52" rear projection tv and scratched the inside in like 5-6 places, what is that area called? Its not the screen itself and he said something like a fenzel or something but i cant find anything online. whats that cost for him to buy? he said he will replace and yes i got it in writting that he was at fault. Im just curious and thinking he might not get one and have to replace the tv itsself. Does anyone know what was scratched? Thanks
RCA 52" TV Keeps Turning off? I've had an RCA 52" big screen tv for about 3-4 years now. Over the past couple of months it has been shutting off on me while i would be watching tv. It will shut off, and then turn on for like 2 secs then back off. All i need to know is how i would be able to fix this problem? or how much it would cost to get it repaired?

8 year old 36 inch RCA TV suddenly has a green ghost...? ...like shadowing the figures on the screen. Almost like a halo. Only in green. The TV gave us no prior symptoms. Watched it the night before no problems, turned it on in the morning. It pop on and off and has been like this ever since. Any hope, worth repairing?
Reception problems with RCA 32" TV - Ghosting / Snow? I bought a TV from my buddy about 10 years ago because he needed the money. We had to have a warranty repair once to fix the power button and the aux input has never worked. Whenever I try to connect an external video source, the TV complains that there is no usable signal. Lately, there has been some ghosting on almost all the channels and a few of them have snow. There are only about 5 or 6 clear channels while the rest are barely tolerable to watch. I have been able to eliminate everything but the TV as the culprit. We have cable TV and placed a signal booster in the line, changed the cable but nothing works. I assume the tuner is shot on my TV? My question is should I bother to get it repaired or will it be cheaper to just replace the TV? It would be a shame to have to get rid of it since it's a nice big size and is not used often as it's in our bedroom. Any advice?
Should I repair or replace my old TV? I have an old (10 yrs?) GE 20" TV in my bedroom. It suddenly started to act up, similar to the way a TV acts with a poor cable connection (snow, flickering, sync problems), but the problem is identical with either the cable (coax) or the RCA connection being used as a source. The problem comes and goes. Think it's worth fixing, or should I just buy a new TV (seem to be many similar TVs under $200).
where can i buy a power board for a RCA D52W23? my board blow a cap and i need to buy a new one local tv repair men want 300 to fix i can do the work just can't find the board and it seem that loacl tv repair men don't want to sell the part thanks for any help
52' RCA Projection TV Blurry? My TV recently became blurry while I was playing a video game. This was a sudden change and no video settings were altered. The picture is extremely blurry to the point where I can't read the menus. This is true for all video inputs. I looked inside and all three lamps seem to be working fine. I am wondering if this may be a common problem that can be repaired myself. Any input would be appreciated.

I am having trouble displaying my ps3 console on my RCA high definition lcd tv. I need help!!!? I am getting so flustered because I have tried everything. I have 2 working sets of hdmi cables. (I know they work because they are both new and I have used them with my ps3 before) I also have a full high definition rca 42 inch 1080p lcd tv and a 40gb PS3. I left my ps3 system on for the past couple of days and when I turned my tv on and the normal ps3 menu was not displayed on it. This has happened once before and I can't remember what I did to fix it for the life of me. I can get it to work when I have the normal video input channel on and the av cords, but it looks nothing like it does when it's in high definition mode. I have followed these steps listed under the playstation 3 troubleshooting guidelines: ______________________________________... With certain televisions, the PLAYSTATION 3 may not automatically detect the HDMI source (TV) which it is plugged into, even after resetting the Video Output Setting (as described above). If resetting the Video Output Setting did not work, you may need to follow these steps to manually locate the HDMI source: Connect both the AV Cable and the HDMI cable from the PLAYSTATION 3 to the corresponding (AV and HDMI) ports on your TV. Proceed with resetting the Video Output Setting on the PLAYSTATION 3 again (follow the instructions above, and then continue to step 3). Turn the TV channel to the corresponding "Input" or "Video" channel for the AV Cable connection. Manually change the Video Output Settings to HDMI (follow the instructions below, then continue to step 5). Now switch the "Input" or "Video" channel on the TV for the HDMI port the PLAYSTATION 3 is currently plugged into. Accept the display settings for HDMI before the timer runs out (30 seconds). Highlight "Yes" and press the button. You can now disconnect AV Cable from the PLAYSTATION 3 and the TV, as it is no longer needed. ______________________________________... THESE STEPS DID NOT WORK. The screen goes blank and when I turn it to the hdmi channel my tv says cec device searching like it always does when you turn it on that channel, but the ps3 does not successfully display. The PS3 also does not automatically recognize the high def connection either...like it claims it can because I have followed these troubleshooting guidelines too (WHICH ALSO DID NOT WORK): ______________________________________... It may be necessary for you to manually change the Video Output Settings to "HDMI" in order to see a picture. To manually change the Video Output Settings on the PLAYSTATION 3: Go to (Settings) in the XMB™ home menu. Go to the [Display Settings] icon, then press the button. Highlight [Video Output Settings], then press the button. Select [HDMI] as the connector type on your display, then press the button. You will be informed that the console will test the settings for 30 seconds. Press the button to "Change" the display of the system. Note: If your TV has multiple "Input" or "Video" channels, (i.e., "Input 1", "Input 2", "Input 3", etc.), you may need to toggle through each "Input" channel on your TV to find the correct one that will display the HDMI picture during the 30 seconds, especially if you do not see a picture. The system will remain in the selected connector type for 30 seconds. If your display supports HDMI, you will see a screen that asks to accept the setting. Highlight YES and press the button. You will be asked what resolution you wish to be displayed: AUTOMATIC or CUSTOM. If you choose AUTOMATIC, the system will configure itself to the highest possible resolution. If you choose CUSTOM, the system will allow you to select the resolution to be used (1080p, 1080i, 720p, or 480p). Highlight the resolution you wish to be displayed and press the button. The PLAYSTATION 3 will list the settings you have selected. Press the button to confirm and save these settings. ______________________________________... I called the ps3 hotline for troubleshooting and when I finally was able to speak to a real person, all they could tell me to do was the info. that was already listed for troubleshooting on their website. They told me that they could send me a box so that I can get a new one or get my current one repaired, but I don't have the receipt, even though its under a year old...so that will not do me any good. Besides, when I had these problems the first time they told me they were going to send me a box, but I spent a few hours each day messing with it (changing the channel at different times, pulling out and putting in either the av cords or hdmi cords at certain times, and all different combinations of these strategies) for several days and finally I found a combination of pulling the cords and putting them in at certain times and it worked. If anybody has any kind of advice (other than a sarcastic response of get a new tv or ps3...or hdmi cables, when I know they all work just fine)...I would appreciate it greatly.
The color on my tv is all screwed up, whats wrong? I have a 56" RCA Proscan projection tv where the color has gone all screwy. In order too see you need to use childs 3D glasses to watch it. The TV is 7 years old. We have since bought a new TV but would like to know what sort of repair costs we are looking at. Anybody??????
AV Jacks on TV in need of repair? On the back of the TV the section that the RCA cables plug in is very loose and can almost be pushed inside the back casing. video1 has running lines in it and video 2 has the same until you move it around to another position. video1 will also get all snowy and the sound go out when it is out of position. alll the plugs are in tight its just that if the whole section is tapped a few times it will clear up. The sound also will become distorted. any suggestions also one of the speakers does not work but the main issue is the loose AV section.
